Welcome to the Executive Summary.
The Swiss Army Knife of Leadership Tools
Welcome to The Executive Summary.
This is my email to the CEOs I know. It covers strategy, leadership and communication – and whatever is the flavour of the day.
One concept per email.
The Executive Summary doesn’t follow the news agenda. I did that for years and there’s plenty of that around.
Instead you’ll find out what other CEOs are thinking, some of their hacks and recommendations. You’ll get the benefit of my introductions and some of the bleeding obvious all laid out in a few short paragraphs using simple, inclusive language.
Very little of a CEO’s job is as it was advertised. There’s a lot more “have you done it yet?” and crisis prevention than anyone ever told you about.
I’ve been there. It’s a bun fight. You need to be a media machine to get strategy done and the right people around you to make anything meaningful happen. How can it take so long to make an impact?
I’ve been a journalist, a director in FTSE companies and an entrepreneur. You can read my profile here. Today I work with CEOs around the world on getting their messaging, brand and go-to-market just right.
If you’d like to receive the Executive Summary, there are two requirements:
1 – We need to know each other. If we don’t, you can either be introduced or we can talk first. But you can’t just sign up.
I love to make introductions. If I invite you to a lunch, it’s not all about your job title – everyone here has one of those. It’s about who you are and what you contribute. There has to be a reason for you to be there.
2 – You have to be a CEO or thereabouts. You might be on your way or have already done it.
I hope the Executive Summary inspires you. I also hope in some cases it causes you to question or disagree. If so, speak up. We need to talk more rather than cancel each other.
