The Executive Summary: Episode 1

Welcome to the Executive Summary…

This is my email to the CEOs I know. It covers strategy, communication and leadership. You’ll find hacks, trends, recommendations, introductions and the bleeding obvious all laid out in a few short paragraphs.

It’ll will also serve you with a diverse array of thoughts from other CEOs and people I think you’ll like to hear from.

Very little of a CEO’s job is as it was advertised. There’s a lot more “have you done it yet?” and crisis prevention than anyone ever told you about.

I’ve been there. It’s a bun fight. You need to be a media machine to get strategy done and the right people around you to make anything meaningful happen. How can it take so long to make an impact?

I’ve been a journalist (FT), a commercial director in FTSE companies and an entrepreneur. You can read my profile here. Today I work with CEOs around the world on getting their messaging, brand and go-to-market just right.

If you’d like to receive the Executive Summary, there are two requirements:

1 – We need to know each other. If we don’t, you can either be introduced or we can talk first. But you can’t just sign up.

If I invite you to a lunch, it’s not all about your job title – everyone here has one of those. It’s about who you are and what you contribute. There has to be a reason for you to be there.

2 – You have to be or have been a CEO – or thereabouts…

I hope the Executive Summary inspires you. I also hope in some cases it causes you to question or disagree. If so, speak up. We need to talk more rather than cancel each other.
